One of Community Alliance of Lane County’s youth-led initiatives is the Serving Justice Food Truck Project. This project aims to expand skill-building, employment, and leadership opportunities for BIPOC youth ages 14-18 in Lane County. The Serving Justice Project consists of operating a fully functional youth-run food truck, where participants gain paid work experience, entrepreneurial training, leadership development, and a $1,200 stipend.<\/strong> Youth will take charge of budgeting, menu creation, marketing, and customer service, which help build real skills, earn real wages, gain certifications, build resumes and networks, strengthen cultural identity, and develop confidence in their future pathways. Through the Serving Justice Project, our hope is that community building and empowerment create positive long-term impacts on the lives of our youth and the well-being of our community. Youth will develop as leaders who will help advance social and economic justice and equity in our community in many ways, gaining strength through their cultures, communities, and unique skill sets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To kick off the Serving Justice project, we are inviting a cohort of 5 youth to lead the food truck business plan development. This unique experience will allow youth to shape the future of a groundbreaking social and economic justice project in our community! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
