After nearly 60 years of service advancing justice and equity in Lane County, Community Alliance of Lane County (CALC) has made the strategic decision to sell its longtime headquarters at 458 Blair Blvd. This move reflects CALC’s ongoing commitment to meet emerging community needs with flexibility, innovation, and renewed purpose.
CALC will continue operations through remote collaboration, ongoing partnerships, and its Springfield location—anchored by our enduring values of justice, solidarity, human rights, action, courage, appreciation, and joy. The organization’s focus is evolving to deepen youth engagement and civic participation across Lane County.
Proceeds from the sale will strengthen CALC’s financial foundation and expand core programs that empower young BIPOC leaders. These include the UdA (Unión de Activistas) program and its new extension, Serving Justice—a mobile initiative supporting youth entrepreneurship, career development, and community advocacy through a reimagined food truck model.
“Selling the building was a tough decision, but necessary for our next chapter,” said Co-Director Teresa Gutierrez. “CALC’s legacy doesn’t reside in four walls—it lives in the voices of our youth and the communities we uplift.”
Board Chair Melissa Cariño added, “This space nurtured a movement. Now, that movement continues beyond the building—with stronger impact and broader reach.”
As CALC turns this page, the organization extends deep gratitude to the volunteers, staff, and supporters who have helped shape its legacy. The leadership team remains committed to building a just and inclusive future—where empowered youth are central to change.
