Springfield Alliance for Equality and Respect (SAfER) is inviting nominations for a Human Rights Leadership Award. The award will be presented during Springfield’s Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on January 16, 2017.
SAfER seeks to honor an individual who, through personal commitment and action in support of equality and respect, demonstrates the values of social justice set forth by leaders such as Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Eleanor Roosevelt. A nominee must be someone who lives and/or works in Springfield and who is actively involved in human rights issues, as an individual or as a member of an organization.
The deadline for nominations is 5 pm on Monday, January 9, 2017. Nominations can be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The nomination form can be downloaded here. A nomination should provide contact information for the person making the nomination as well as for the nominee, and should describe the qualities and achievements of the nominee that qualify him or her for this leadership award.
Springfield Alliance for Equality and Respect traditionally presents Human Rights Leadership Awards three times a year, and has recognized over three dozen individuals.
