City Wide M.E.Ch.A offers educational programs, activities, and materials without discrimination based on age, Color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or Veteran’s status.
We hope to educate and challenge our participants to take on a different perspective. We want to respect folks and help challenge oppressive remarks and actions. We want to help build leaders in our communities of lane county and as well as in the state of Oregon. We want to motivate young people to pursue their education and become involved, engaged members of their communities. Moreover, C.W.M enhances the leadership skills, academic preparation, self-esteem, and cultural awareness of young people. City Wide M.E.Ch.A provides an opportunity to young people at a crucial moment in their lives to build their capacity and ambition, as well as alter their life courses.
Using curriculum built upon the values of Community, Culture, College, and Careers, life-altering experience in which high school students develop their leadership skills, develop strategies to pursue higher education, improve their self-esteem and cultural awareness while meeting with legislators, networking with business leaders, and developing relationships with other peers.
